Her mission is to empower Black women on their maternal and mental wellness journeys by providing a supportive community, invaluable resources, and access to culturally competent therapists – through her brand, She Matters. Through this work, Jade aims to address the unique needs of Black women and foster a healthier, more inclusive approach to maternal and mental health.

PR Goal
Jade’s PR objective revolved around enhancing visibility for her burgeoning maternal mental health platform, with a specific focus on the imminent launch of the’She Matters App.’ This innovative app would offer a comprehensive directory of licensed therapists while facilitating community engagement. Jade, a newbie to press, also sought TAC’s expertise to establish herself as a leading authority on Black maternal health, further solidifying her position as a trusted resource in the field.
The Strategy
Employing a targeted media outreach strategy, TAC engaged with the emerging brand’s niche audience across various content consumption platforms. This comprehensive approach encompassed a diverse array of outlet types, spanning print, digital, podcasts, radio, and television.
By refining key messaging that incorporated Jade’s personal maternal health journey + crafting timely storytelling pitches, TAC swiftly captured media attention around the brand’s initiatives and showcased Jade’s expertise in the field.

The Results
TAC’s PR strategy quickly delivered results, securing coverage in top outlets like Women’s Health (twice), Black Enterprise, Well+Good, and NBC. This included brand profiles, thought leadership pieces, and product listicles. A feature we secured in Women’s Health directly catapulted sales of the brand’s new wellness subscription box.
Even after our engagement, the momentum continued—She Matters was accepted into the Techstars Accelerator, and also secured $1.5MM in pre-seed funding to advance its mission.
